Delta helped River Island turn an initial concept into a cost-effective, eye-catching window display that engaged shoppers throughout the UK & Europe and generated a marked increase in footfall during the summer months.
We were tasked with implementing a design based around the retailer’s original concept of using giant tribal masks in their Summer windows. They had to be variable in size and complexity to fit different store formats and budget challenges, whilst delivering stand-out on the high street.
We designed and manufactured a set of multi-layered, structurally complex but cost-efficient structures that could be flat-packed and installed by following simple guidelines. The set included 3-metre high tribal masks made in card with silkscreened and vinyl-applied fluorescent colours for enormous displays in their megastores, a simplified 3D version for their flag stores, a lug on version for standard stores, and a silkscreened 2D panel for basic stores.
The display was completed on-time and in budget and delighted our clients. The carnival-feel display has had rave reviews; the judges at the annual Printweek Awards said it was “just incredible… an impressive layered design and construction.” The units were distributed into 250 stores throughout the UK & Europe.
