Halloween 2017: where and how are shoppers spending their money?

Halloween 2017 spending expected to hit record high!

It’s estimated to be another record breaking year for Halloween season as parents and party-goers alike are set to spend an incredible £481 million in the UK!

Spend has climbed 1.7% from last year with the overall increase spearheaded by a rise in clothing sales, jumping 3.1% from 2016 to £166m. Asda lead the way with nearly 30% of shoppers opting for the supermarket chain as the go-to place for Halloween costumes. Grocery retailers are also set to benefit from a 2.9% uplift in spending on food, including trick or treat sweets and pumpkins, to £140m.
